About DataPoint Football
Who Are We?
DataPoint Football is the working name of our algorithm based predictive sports modeling company that has been providing free college and pro football side selections since 2020.
What Do We Do?
We offer multiple independent algorithm based models designed to provide an analytical approach to betting college and professional football. We release our picks for FREE every Thursday or Friday during the football season.
The models were created by a former investment banker as a hobby. For each of the last eight years, the models have been enhanced by additional data and more sophisticated computer programming.
NCAAF Model
The 2025-26 season will be the sixth year we have operated this website. Last year was our worst year yet, but still ended with a profitable 53% overall win percentage.
After each season, I re-evaluate the models used and make improvements as needed. This years tweaks involve having a total of five separate models with official PICKS needing a minimum of 2 of the 5 models supporting the same side/threshold. For the first time, I will be changing the five models weekly as i have always believed that there are factors that impact college football during different points in the season (i.e. weather, conference play, depth etc) that make static formulas less predictive. Also, I have eliminated 2-star and 1-star classifications for my picks for this year. I will once again provide BONUS category picks (mostly for fun) that is just created for situations when your watching a game and want to get a bet down. These picks don't meet the minimum threshold for picks, but do favor one team over the other through a majority of my models and have historically provided a slight advantage over non-statistic based selections.
NFL Model
My NFL model had a 55% win percentage during 2024-25. As a result, I now have demonstrated enough consistent winning to feel comfortable recommending my NFL picks. I am utilizing 4 models this year and, like my college model, i will be changing the algorithms weekly.
Is it Really Free?
Yes. At least for now this is just a hobby.
